CHILDHOOD
I was born on August 27th, 1958 at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, Maryland. My parents are Barney 'Reid' Coulson and Marjorie Crawford Coulson. As a family we have always lived in Harford County. I first came home to a home that mom and dad had built on Bauers Drive in Edgewood. Then mom and dad bought a bigger home in Forest Hill. We have also lived in Joppa and Creswell Area. When I was about 13 years old mom and dad bought a rancher home in Edgewood, Maryland where they currently live.
I have one brother, Richard 'Mark' Coulson and one sister Lisa Michelle Coulson Russell.
TEENAGER
At 14 years old my brother & I formed our own lil' company, the Coulson Brothers Lawn Mowing. We mowed grass for several neighbors in our community. At 18 years old I got a real job and moved out of the house and did the teenage 'independence' thing. I moved into a house that we called the 'animal house'. Six teenagers living in one house. Not to be a party house but to help keep expenses down...... it didn't. I then moved into an apartment in the Abingdon area with a school friend, Howard Swink. Howard & I soon landed better paying jobs in Dundalk and moved to an apartment in the area to get closer to work. Other jobs have included: Hardee's Manager, Hollywood Video Manager, Klein's Superthrift Manager.
FAMILY
It was at Klein's that I met my wife Penny Lynn Bauguess. We were married on July 26, 1987 at the Welcome Home Baptist Church in Bel Air. Penny's family is of Irish descent and she has the red hair to prove it. Since being married we have live in Edgewood and Havre de Grace. And also in Pippersville, Pennsyvania and Columbus, Ohio. We had planned to settle down in Coumbus but moved back to Maryland to help Dad when he became disabled in July of 2002.
Penny & I were not able to have any children of our own but we adopted my sisters child, Ashley Lynn Russell. Ashley came to us at 10 months old. When Ashley was born she weighed less than 2 pounds. Not expected to live or if she did they said she would be blind. Well she fooled us all. She had a few health problems in the beginning but is in good health today. She loves school and has an art talent. I guess she got the art talent from her pop-pop (B Reid Coulson). Dad was an illustrator.
